Who   Is   ROC-UNITED?

The Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC-UNITED) is a non-profit restaurant workers' organization dedicated to improving wages and working conditions for the nation’s low-wage restaurant workforce. ROC-United was founded after September 11th, 2001 to provide support to restaurant workers displaced as a result of the World Trade Center tragedy. It is the only national restaurant workers’ organization in the United States and is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to the needs of restaurant workers.

From policy reform to workplace justice to hospitality training courses to bringing together restaurant industry roundtables , ROC engages in multiple strategies to improve working conditions. ROC-United has won ten campaigns for workplace justice, supported the organizing efforts of thousands of restaurant workers, and recovered over $5 million in stolen tips and wages and discrimination payments for restaurant workers. More importantly, ROC-United has won policy changes in these restaurant companies that address ongoing discrimination and wage theft.
