    DARden  claims  it  is  a
"leader  in  the   full-service  restaurant  industry."

IS   THIS  WHAT   LEADERSHIP   LOOKS   LIKE?

    Workers   charge   that   darden :

    * Fired black servers because they did not “fit the company standard” at their Capital Grille fine dining restaurant in Chevy Chase, MD
    * Makes employees  work through their breaks, work off the clock, & work overtime without compensating them
    * Does not provide paid sick days for their employees, so they can stay home when they are ill and not handle food served to customers
    * Overworks employees by forcing them to fill two or three different positions at the same time without any additional compensation
    * Pays poverty wages as low as $2.13/hour for tipped employees and $7.25/hour, or $15,080, for non-tipped employees, while the CEO enjoys $8.5 million a year

In December 2011, workers from the Capital Grille Restaurant stood up for dignity in their restaurant company. On January 31st, Capital Grille workers in New York, Chicago, and in the Washington, DC area filed federal litigation against Capital Grille’s parent company Darden for discrimination and wage theft. On February 15th, workers from Capital Grille in Los Angeles joined the struggle. On February 28th, Miami Capital Grille workers also launched their campaign and added their claims to the litigation. (Click here to see the lawsuit and find out more).

Employees at all of the 1,680 Darden Restaurants across America – such as Capital Grille, Red Lobster, and Olive Garden - deserve to be given equal opportunities, to be fully and fairly compensated for their efforts, and to enjoy a safe and healthy workplace.
